Abstract
A tank constructed of welded 0.06-inch stainless steel tank 2 ft. by 1 ft. by 3 ft. deep, covered by a glass plate is described. By use of this chromatogram chamber up to 8 sheets of chromatograms on filter paper 22.5 in. x 18.25 in. can be accommodated at a time. Butanol-acetic acid is used for single dimensional chromatograms. Development is by 0.1% ninhydrin in chloroform with 0.1% collidine added. This reagent was the most sensitive of those tested and allowed differentiation of glycine and serine by spot coloration.
