INFLUENCE OF HYPOPHYSECTOMY ON THE ABILITY OF THE RAT TO REMOVE FRUCTOSE FROM ITS BLOOD1

Abstract

The conc. of fructose in the blood of the hypophysectomized rat decreased somewhat more slowly after intraven. adm. of that sugar than in an intact animal. Excretion of fructose by the kidney was also decreased in the hypophysectomized rat. Both differences were small. Nutrition was controlled by forced feeding.
