5,10,15-Trimethylenetribenzo[a,f,k]trindene (Truxenene)

Abstract

The synthesis of the hitherto unknown title compound 1 from truxenone 2 via the alcohols 3 is reported. Truxenene 1 is a C₃-symmetric chiral molecule possessing a low racemization energy barrier as evaluated by theoretical means.
