Abstract
The effect of an external magnetic field on the viscosity of a dilute suspension of magnetized particles is calculated to first order in the volume fraction of solution occupied by the particles. The steady‐state motion of the particles under the influence of the external field is derived through an unusual application of Stokes' theorem to the equations of motion. Keywords
