Source of detrital chromite in North-West Nelson (Note)

Abstract
Chromite in the Upper Cambrian Lockett Conglomerate at Lake Sylvester in NW Nelson is similar in composition to unusually high-chromium chromite in some ultramafic rocks from the nearby Takaka igneous complex, and may indicate uplift and erosion of this mass in Late Cambrian time.
