Abstract
Both electrical stimulation of the perivascular mesenteric nerves and application of epinephrine to excised segments of guinea pig intestine cause contraction of the longitudinal muscle of the duodenum, and relaxation of the longitudinal muscle coat of the terminal ileum and colon. The circular muscle, as studied in modified Trendelen-burg preparations of the intestine, is always relaxed by epinephrine or nerve stimulation. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
