Serum Glycoprotein Concentrations Following Immunization in the Rabbit.

Abstract
The effects of primary immunization with particulate and with soluble antigens on the serum concentrations of total glycoprotein, seromucoid, gamma-globulin polysaccharide, total protein, and gamma-globulin protein, and on the electrophoretic patterns of serum were investigated. Statistically significant increases occurred in the polysaccharide and protein moieties of the gamma-globulin fraction. Repeated injections of sterile 0.85% NaCl by subcutaneous, intravenous, and intramuscular routes were without significant effect. The results of the chemical analyses were discussed with reference to the electrophoretic studies.
