COAGULASE PRODUCTION BY STAPHYLOCOCCUS-AUREUS .2. GROWTH AND COAGULASE PRODUCTION IN COMPLEX AND CHEMICALLY DEFINED MEDIUMS-COMPARISON OF CHEMICALLY DEFINED MEDIUMS

Abstract

A direct correlation was established between the logarithmic growth phase of S. pyogenes var. aureus and coagulase production, production ceasing when organisms reached the stationary phase. Comparison of 2 chemically defined mediums re-vealed that L-glutamic acid, L-histidine HCl and L-lysine HCl stimulated coagulase production.
