Abstract
An expression I(E,h) relating the integral intensity of muons and depth underground is presented. Particular attention is given to quantifying the various sources of uncertainty relevant to the accuracy of this expression. Measurements of sea-level intensities made with magnetic spectrographs are compared with the predictions of underground results in the energy range 5-1000 GeV.Keywords
