Abstract
The vibrational spectrum of molybdenum hexacarbonyl has been examined in greater detail than previously. Assignments of 12 of the 13 fundamental frequencies have been made. Approximate anharmonic corrections have been applied to the CO stretching vibrations. Force constants have been calculated using a resonance interaction valence force field [L. H. Jones, J. Mol. Spectroscopy 8, 105 (1962)]. The results are quite encouraging concerning the applicability of this force field. Keywords
