Renal papillary adenocarcinoma following treatment for Wilms' tumor

Abstract
A 7-year-old girl treated for Wilms' tumor in 1975 developed a renal papillary adenocarcinoma (RPA) in her remaining kidney five years later. This second tumor was detected by abdominal ultrasound during routine assessment of the growth and function of her remaining kidney. An abdominal computerized axial tomogram confirmed the presence of an intrarenal mass, but a renal anteriogram was entirely normal. The second tumor was enucleated by blunt dissection. No further treatment was given. The child remains well and disease-free 22 months following surgery.This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
