Abstract
We introduce a new geometrical frameworkbased on which natural flows for image scale space and enhancementare presented. We consider intensity images assurfaces in the (x; I) space. The image is thereby a 2D surfacein 3D space for gray level images, and 2D surfaces in 5Dfor color images. The new formulation unifies many classicalschemes and algorithms via a simple scaling of the intensitycontrast, and results in new and efficient schemes. Extensionsto multi dimensional signals become...Keywords
