Abstract
A computer-assisted modelling facility, called MODELLER, has been produced for continuous system simulation. Originally designed for those with limited or no computing experience, it also has appeal to the simulation expert. The specification of a model, together with a description of the experiment to be performed on that model, are entered by responding to prompts from the software. The dialogue contains many interactive features. Simulation experiments may be performed either by using MODELLER's own run-time system, or by generating a pro gram in a suitable language. MODELLER contains its own editor and automatically preserves specifications on file. The design of MODELLER is discussed and several examples of its use are given.
