Regge Cuts, Absorption Model, and Diffraction Dips in Inelastic Scattering

Abstract

We propose an expression for calculating Regge-cut contributions to inelastic scattering, based on the absorption model. We present a brief justification of our expression, using the idea of an instantaneous composite structure for the scattering particles. We apply the model to $\rho$ exchange in ${\pi }^{-}p\to {\pi }^{0}n$.
