B→μ+μin the two-Higgs-doublet model

Abstract
The rare decay B→μ+ μ is studied within the context of the two-Higgs-doublet extension of the standard model. We show that for a reasonable range of model parameters, the charged-Higgs-scalar contribution exceeds the conventional contributions from the standard model. For the process Bsμ+ μ, branching fractions ≳108 are possible in this scenario. For the process Z→bq¯+b¯q, we find the charged-Higgs-boson contribution leads to branching fractions ≳106.
