Abstract
Most of the West African region is free from the preharvest seasonal undernutrition which has plagued populations in developing areas. However in a part of the sudanic zones of West Africa, the previous years' cereal harvest does not always suffice to prevent severe food intake restrictions before the next harvest. Evidence of this phenomenon is provided by narratives of seasonal life, food intake surveys, and body weight measurements. Keywords
