Abstract
We report non‐phase‐matched third harmonic generation of CO2 TEA laser pulses in SF6 gas. Measurement of the nonlinear susceptibility indicates a strong resonant enhancement due to nearby vibrational‐rotational transitions. The nonlinear susceptibility is also calculated and compared with the experimental results. Keywords
