Abstract
In an attempt to throw light on the etiology of nonspecific urethritis, Grimble and Csonka skin tested 246 patients with nonspecific urethritis with an antig en prepared from the urethral secretions of patients with nonbacterial urethritis. Fifty to 70% of the patients with nonspecific urethritis had positive delayed skin tests whereas only a very small percentage of patients with gonorrhea and of controls had a positive skin test. The authors conclude that over half of all cases of nonspecific urethritis are due to a predominating cause and that an infecting agent exists in all probability.
