Abstract
Intracellular, loosely bound Ca+ + has been localized electron microscopically in freshly ejaculated boar spermatozoa by in situ precipitation with potassium antimonate. Ca+ + was identified as the cation precipitated by testing the EGTA‐sensitivity of the precipitates and by X‐ray microprobe analysis. The data obtained revealed that the outer acrosomal membrane is the preferential site for Ca+ + precipitation in the sperm head. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
