THE EFFECT OF TESTOSTERONE ON THE MONKEY UTERUS AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF STEROIDAL HORMONES IN THE FORM OF DEANESLYPARKES PELLETS1

Abstract
The results of Deanesly and Parkes with regard to the action of subcut. implanted pellets of fat-soluble hormone are confirmed. The method is shown to have distinct advantages for long action. The uterus of the monkey failed to respond to testosterone in the characteristic manner in which it responded to much lower dosages of progesterone. No evidence was found for any antagonistic action of testosterone to either estrogen or progesterone when concomitantly injected with one or both of these hormones.
