Abstract
The prepn. of a soluble protein by treating elastin with hot concentrated aqueous urea is descr. The sedimentation constant increased directly and the diffusion constant inversely with concn. This suggests a reversible dissociation favored by dilution. The values at infinite dilution with partial specific volume, give a molecular wt. at infinite dilution of 6870.Keywords
