Early Bereavement and Schizophrenia

Abstract
Schizophrenics have been compared with their non-schizophrenic sibs as regards their ages at the death of their parents, using a standardization procedure designed to eliminate any effect of size of sibship. No significant difference was found between schizophrenics and non-schizophrenics suggesting that bereavement of a parent is not of importance in etiology of schizophrenia.
