Pharmacology of Individual Neurons

Abstract
A recent approach, that of electrophoretic administration of chemical substances in the immediate proximity of individual nerve cells, has proved useful, in. spite of the difficulty in interpreting the findings that results from our incomplete knowledge of synaptic arrangements in the many regions of the brain where this method was tried, and in spite of the method''s inherent technical limitations. Advances may be expected in the near future, at a quickening pace, as soon as other model systems of central synaptic arrangements become available.
