Abstract
Bioassays with pyridoxine-deficient chicks have shown that 2,4-di-methyl-3-hydroxy-5-hydroxymethylpyridine is a very potent inhibitor of pyridoxine. Under the conditions of these expts., 2 molecules of the inhibitor were sufficient to offset the vit. activity of one molecule of pyridoxine given in suboptimal and optimal amts.
