Abstract
Pyroelectricity has been observed in the smectic- and smectic- phases of -decyloxybenzylidene--amino-2-methylbutylcinnamate after the material is poled in a dc field. The observed pyroelectric coefficient is consistent with an estimate of its theoretical value.
