Laser-shape reconditioning and manufacturing of tools and machine parts

Abstract

Laser cladding and generating offers a possibility to repair or to manufacture tools and machine parts in a very precise, fast and cost efficient manner. An introduction into the state-of-the-art of laser cladding and generating is given. The problems for a near neat-shape reconditioning with laser generating will be discussed and applications within the field of reconditioning and manufacturing of injection mould tools and machine parts are described.
