Abstract
Summary 1. 141 cases of Otomycosis have been studied clinically and mycologically. 2. 195 cultures put up yielded growth of fungus: of these 81.5% were aspergilli, 9% were Candida, 2% were penicillium and 7.5% belonged to miscellaneous group of fungi imperfecti. 3. Some aetiological factors have been evaluated like relationship to temperature and humidity, habit of using oil as ear drop, presence of wax in the ear, trauma to ear canal etc. 4. The literature has been briefly reviewed and the aetiologic role of fungi in the morbid process has been discussed. Keywords
