Abstract
SUMMARY Brooker, M. G., M. G. Ridpath, A. J. Estbergs, J. Bywater, D. S. Hart and M. S. Jones. 1979. Bird observations on the north-western Nullarbor Plain and neighbouring regions, 1967–1978. Emu: 176–190. A systematic account of 135 species of birds observed on or near the north-western Nullarbor Plain from 1967 to 1978 is given. Four habitats have been recognized on the Plain in which twenty-eight sedentary, fifteen nomadic, twenty-nine irregular and nineteen vagrant species were recorded. Regular counts of birds were made in three habitats. During the last forty years, Chiming Wedgebill and Redthroat seem to have disappeared from the Plain Mid the distribution of several others has changed.
