IgE and Haemagglutinating Antibody Production in Mice following Intranasal Immunization with Ryegrass Pollen

Abstract
Repeated intranasal immunization of mice with whole ryegrass pollen (RGP) led to the development of high circulating titres of both IgE and haemagglutinating antibodies. Bordetella pertussis vaccine (BPV) was required at the time of initial immunization, although its repeated use did not affect IgE production. Antibody production was maintained at high levels for greater than 4 months. Significant differences were found in the ability of different batches and strains of BPV to induce IgE production.
