Generation of the Third Harmonic by an Electromagnetic Signal in a Plasma

Abstract

By using the method of Margenau and Hartman the amplitude of the third‐harmonic current density is calculated. The equations lead to a tenable solution provided the field strength is small. An inequality is given for the region where the solution is valid.
