Abstract
Phase-shifted long-period fiber gratings (LPFG's) are analyzed by the coupled-mode theory together with the fundamental-matrix method. The effects of introducing multiple phase shifts at various locations along a LPFG are highlighted. The results compare well with published experimental data. Keywords
