Reaction Mechanism forp-Wave Neutron Capture inMo92andMo98

Abstract
A study of γ-ray intensities following neutron capture in Mo92 and Mo98 provides evidence for a simple reaction mechanism which dominates the decay of the compound nuclear state. The intensities are largely accounted for by the motion of a valency neutron in transitions of the type p32d32, d52, or s12, and p12s12 or d32.
