Local Treatment of Impetigo with Sulphanilamide

Abstract

Alternate cases in a series of 69 cases of impetigo were treated with 10% sulfanilamide paste. Cure was effected in 10-18 days vs. 13-24 in the controls. The bacteria of 62 of the cases were investigated. The streptococci disappeared several days before the skin healed.
