Abstract
Published data obtained by various research methods on structural characteristics of sodium ion hydration in aqueous solutions of its salts and authors, X-ray diffraction data have been generalized. Structural parameters of the nearest surrounding of Na+ ion, such as its coordination number, interparticle distances, and types of ion association, have been discussed. It has been noted that the coordination number of the cation changes from four to six upon dilution of the solutions. Keywords
