Human Sebaceous Gland Lipids

Abstract
The lipids from isolated human sebaceous glands have been studied by thin-layer chromatography. Lipids were present that corresponded to the reference standards of squalene, wax esters, and triglycerides. No thin-layer chromatographic spots were found that corresponded to the reference standards of hydrocarbon, sterol esters, free fatty acids, sterols, monoglycerides or diglycerides.
