THE PRECIPITATION OF CALCIUM OXALATE IN THE PRESENCE OF IRON, ALUMINUM, TITANIUM, MANGANESE, MAGNESIUM, AND PHOSPHATES, WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE DETERMINATION OF TOTAL SOIL CALCIUM

Abstract

Experiments show that it is possible to precipitate calcium oxalate completely at p H 4.0, in the presence of Fe, Al, Ti, Mn, Mg, and phosphates. This method is applicable to the determination of total Ca in soils, soil extracts, and plant tissue, and under other conditions where the proportion of these various elements occur in somewhat similar amounts as in this work.
