Abstract
Evidence has been presented of recombination in Chlamydomonas involving 2 nonchromosomal genes. The 2 are unlinked, but each exhibits intragenic recombination between mutant alleles, giving rise to wild-type recombinants. In 1 of them, the acetate gene, reciprocal recombinants containing both of the parental mutant sites have also been detected. The results are interpreted as evidence of the nucleic acid composition of these nonchromosomal genes. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
