Abstract
The endogenous respiration of P aeruginosa differs in several respects from that of other organisms. Although values obtained for the degree of oxidative assimilation of glucose agree with those reported by other workers, this synthesis of storage products is not inhibited by the usual concns. of 2,4-dinitrophenol. The techniques commonly employed to reduce the amt. of stored products in bacterial cells have no effect on this organism. The endogenous respiration functions normally in the presence of added substrate. Keywords
