Abstract
The recently measured total cross section data from the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory are used to calculate the real parts of the forward scattering amplitude for , , , and reactions from 1 to 200 GeV/c. The real parts and their uncertainties are calculated using dispersion relations which include subtraction constants, pole terms, and unphysical-cut contributions. A comparison to experiment shows the proton-proton real part measurements to be in excellent agreement with dispersion-relation results, while experiments show disagreement with the calculated and real parts over at least a portion of the energy range where measurements exist.
