Abstract
Experiments are reported on Stark broadening measurements of electron number density in gas targets under intense electron‐beam heating. Plasma recombination is found to be fast on the gasdynamic time scales of the subsonic target configuration studied. The configuration simulates that in the gas‐target neuton generator systems under development for fusion technology research. Keywords
