Anomalous Hall effect in some typical spin glass alloys

Abstract
The authors have measured over the range 4-80K the isomagnetic temperature dependence of the Hall resistivity rho H in polycrystalline alloys of Au+8.1 at.% Mn, Au+8.2 at.% Fe, Au+2.7 at.% Cr, Ag+7.1 at.% Mn and Cu+4.6 at.% Mn. They suggest that the relative magnitude of the anomalous part of rho H in these systems is determined by the position of the solute's virtual bound states with respect to the Fermi level. The results may therefore guide the interpretation of optical measurements in ambiguous cases. The appearance of the spin glass transition in rho H(T) is shown for those systems having sufficiently strong asymmetric scattering.
