Developmental Task accomplishment has long been regarded as indicative of successful growth for children and youth. This study applies the concept to elderly subjects and reports a significant relationship between development task accomplishment (measured by a self-report instrument) and life-satisfaction. The authors see their results as supporting the position that life satisfaction is enhanced through continued growth as represented by developmental task accomplishment.
