The passage of serum immunoglobulins through the gut ofSarcophaga falculata, Pand

Abstract
Rabbits were immunized with brain, muscle or hemolymph of adult S. falculata, and groups of Sarcophaga were then fed on serum collected from the immune rabbits. Rabbit serum immunoglobulins [Ig] on the tissues of the fed flies were demonstrated by the indirect fluorescent antibody method, using fluorescent goat-anti-rabbit IgG [immunoglobulin G]. The antibodies were specifically demonstrated in the tissues that were used as immunizing antigen. Antibodies non-specific for fly antigens pass through the fly gut and react with the specific antigens.
