Latin America: A Different Reality

Abstract
This article provides a brief description of the significant demographic and economic differences among the countries that compose Latin America as well as between this region and the more developed countries. An explanation of the diversity of the realities faced by higher education in each of the regions follows. However, each of the countries is confronted with the developing new world order and the possibility of applying instruments to measure the quality of offer in each sector. Finally, a proposal designed by the Catholic University of Argentina is described whereby the indicators used in developed countries are applied. The proposal is directed at supporting the implementation process of the new institutional project of this institution.
