Chromosome Numbers in Nodules and Roots of Red Clover, Common Vetch and Garden Pea

Abstract
Infected cells of root nodules of Tri-folium pratense, Vicia angustifolia and Pisum sativum regu-larly possess twice the normal diploid number of chromo-somes characteristic of these plants. Both nodules and root tips from 5 plants of each species were examined.
