Abstract
A calculation of optical dipole transition oscillator strengths between the 1 1S, 2 1,3S, 2 1,3P, 3 1,3S, 3 1,3P and 3 1,3D states of helium using perturbation theory is described. The method is based on zero order wavefunctions generated by the frozen core Hartree-Fock approximation. The results to second order are in excellent agreement with the values calculated by Pekeris and co-workers.Keywords
