Abstract
An experimental study of the relation of auditory response to viscosities of tympanic fluids has been undertaken. With increased viscosity there has been a significant drop in response by both air conduction and bone conduction in which some frequency differential has been recognized in the patterns. It appears quite clear that increased viscosity of contained tympanic fluids are correlated with increased threshold deficits by both air conduction and bone conduction. Correlative clinical studies on the nature of tympanic fluid viscosities are indicated and are in progress. Keywords
