Effect of dispersion on wake-bound electron states in metals

Abstract
Using a dispersive dielectric function for the response of the electron gas, the induced potential along the path of a fast ion in a metal is calculated. From this, geometrical and binding information for the states of electrons which this potential may bind are determined.Keywords
