Abstract
Sectors of an input–output table are disaggregated in much applied regional input–output work. Too often the relevant literature lacks credibility because its skimpy methodological detail is not transparent. The recommended methodology does not determine what the ‘true’ value of the multiplier might be. It suggests an easy method of obtaining a reasonable approximation to multiplier values. The discussion is illustrated using data from the Hunter Region, Australia. Keywords
