U.-v. radiation caused considerable destruction of glutathione, radium slight destruction, both causing at the same time partial oxidation to the disulphide form. Oxidation by the former proceeded beyond the disulphide form, free sulphate being formed. The extent of the destruction was dependent upon the pH and time of radiation. X-rays had no effect.
